One of several pillows used under President Abraham Lincoln's head as he lay dying at the Petersen House, across the street from the site of his assassination at Ford's Theatre. Note the bloodstains. Lincoln was carried to the Petersen House after a single shot from John Wilkes Booth's deringer pistol fatally wounded the president. Lincoln died at the Petersen House at 7:22 a.m. on April 15, 1865.
