Song Wenzhi (1919-1999) was born in Taicang, Jiangsu Province. Dropped out from Suzhou Art Academy. He worked in Jiangsu Painting Academy in 1957. He was Vice President of Jiangsu Academy of Traditional Chinese Painting, Vice President of Jiangsu Art Association, Director of Jiangsu Culture and History, and Professor of Nanjing University. National first-class artist. He has held personal art exhibitions in Japan, Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan. He has been invited to paint for the Great Hall of the People, Zhongnanhai and Diaoyutai State Guest House. Major works include The Great Change of Mountains and Rivers, The South of the Yangtze River by Li Hua Chun Yu, and The Light Boat Has Passed Ten Thousand Heavy Mountains. The publications include Selected Works of Song Wenzhi, Selected Landscape Paintings of Song Wenzhi and Selected Paintings of Song Wenzhi. In 1989, the Song Wenzhi Art Museum was established in Taicang County, Jiangsu Province.
