Pinjra (Larder)

Instead of meshwork, the sides and the doors of this pinjra were made using thin strips of metal fitted to form a mesh-like design. In many homes, in spite of having a refrigerator, pinjra were still used to store cooked food and dairy products required for the day’s use.
