Plaque of National Anniversaries

During King Heongjong’s reign

National Palace Museum of Korea

National Palace Museum of Korea
Seoul, South Korea

This plaque records the dates of Royal Ancestral Rites of kings, queens, crown princes, and royal concubines who were biological mothers of the kings, as well as the locations of the royal tombs such as neung, won, and myo. At the end of the plaque, the birthdays of the king, the grand queen, the queen of the previous king, and the queen at that time are engraved. Considering the dates of death of Crown Prince Hyomyeong and Queen Hyohyeon, who died in the 8th lunar month in 1843, were recorded, this plaque was made between 1843 and 1849 during King Hunjeong’s reign.
