Ekain's engraved plaque (Deba, Gipuzkoa)

This flat plaque was found in the Ekain cave (Deba, Gipuzkoa) and is one of the most impressive pieces of art mobilier found in Gipuzkoa. The superimposed fore parts of a mountain goat, a deer and a horse have been carved onto a slab of sandstone. The goat is particularly well crafted, and the head is carved in great detail. It dates from the Upper Magdalenian (13 000 - 11 000 BP).
