Fashion plate of two woman standing by a fireplace. Woman with back turned shows the back of her deep purpple velvet long sleeved jacket and skirt. A large bustle with draping fabric and train of dress. There are panels of stripped fabirc on front of dress and along the sleeves of jacket. Gathered fabric in a lighter shade of purple create trim along the bottom of skirt, bustle, and end of flared sleeves.Woman in side profile reading a book wears a light blue sleeveless dress. Bodice is buttoned down the front with a dove atop a bow at the center of the neckline. The bodice has a pleated white trim along the bottom of bodice, collar, and neckline. There are bows on the shoulders of the bodice. Throughout the skirt of the dress are draped and gathered fabric. Some of the draped fabric creates bow along front and back of skirt. She is also accessorized with white gloves, gold cuff and neclace with cross pendant.
