Museum Nasional Indonesia
Jakarta, Indonesia

This is one of the museum's masterpieces. It is a blue and white porcelain plate, exquisitely ornamented with peony flowers, Feng Huang birds, waves and other symbols. The rich variations of blue produce unusual shading effects. They are the result of the cobalt blue glaze from Persia, known as Mohammedan Blue.
