Alfonso Pleguezuelo in ´Lozas y azulejos de la Colección Carranza´ (Junta de Castilla - La Mancha, 2002, p. 219-220) on a parallel piece believes that it ´belongs to a group disputed by the community of researchers, since conclusive proof of its provenance has never been obtained. Some authors Some authors have suggested that it might be from Valencia (Martínez, 1983, Coll 1998, nº 175), others have declared it to be Catalan (Batllori, 1974; Circi, 1977 and Llorens, 1989) and others (Davillier, 1879; Ainaud, 1952, Pleguezuelo, 1996 and Ray 2000) defend its Sevillian origins... Independently of this analytical evidence, the group should be placed within the late period of Spanish gilt earthenware when different production centres decided to imitate the older and more prestigious production of Murcia, Málaga and Manises. Their works were therefore inspired by the originals, with less attention to the technical and artistic quality and the production of heavier shapes which had more unremarkable decorations with a much more limited repertory than the mature series. Overall, they had a more mainstream appearance, that would appeal to a wide customer base.´

After analytical tests on the composition of the clay with similar products, this group of pieces was shown to originate from Seville. This is from the municipal collection that entered the Archaeological Museum in the 1940s and was deposited in the Museum of Traditions and Arts, Seville, in 1972.
