PLAY-SCAPE

For this project, we selected vinyls (A.K.A
LP records) as the main object in the
context of marketplaces. Most vinyls are
stored like books on shelves, which often
means that the designs on their album
covers are hidden from plain sight. To
address this, we sought new ways to
display LP albums that emphasized the
unique visual features.
Here, the forward-facing vinyls are
displayed and held up by clear acrylic
bars that are placed in bricks along a
wooden frame. In this way the front cover
of the vinyls are fully displayed, avoiding
being stacked among one other. All the
components of the display, including the
wooden frame, the acrylic bars, and the
bricks, were carefully considered to utilize
the space in a way that leads the flow of
visitors throughout the exhibition.
