Beaches of Barcelona

This poster promotes water sports as a new leisure activity on the Catalan coast, and reflects the efforts being made at that time to boost tourism. The poster shows a patí de rem on the water. The patí was a kind of catamaran propelled by a two-ended paddle, and later on by a pair of oars. This type of vessel was very popular at the seafront district of Barceloneta, and was just another of the many beach leisure activities, in addition to strolling along the beach and swimming in the sea.
