Pleated fan. Narrow parchment leaf with lithograph hand-colored in gouache. Obverse: heroic scene of patriarch (possibly Solomon) surrounded by women. Reverse: scenes of lovers in landscape in style of Louis XIV. Mother-of-pearl sticks and guards, carved à jour with floral and lattice designs. Scene of two women and a man on the sticks. Pin is set with a brilliant. Japanese box of lacquered wood inlaid with metal, lined with silk. Top set with metal cartouche and border, with metal lock and hinges. Red moire silk and paper lining.
