This small pocket sundial was found 1979 in Berne (Region of Wesermarsch) inside of the St. Aegidius church. Sundials are known since the antiquity. Portable sundials have been used since the 15th century. The displayed sundial made out of ivory was equipped with a compass to determine the exact time. It has been shown in the exhibition “Alle Wetter!” (29th of October 2016 to 23. of April 2017)
