Bank of England Museum

Bank of England Museum
London, United Kingdom

A cocktail glass with a gilt rim and engraved with vines and flowers with a central Britannia design.

This glass is part of a set of 237 items given in recognition of the Bank of England's help to the Bank Polski (Bank of Poland) during the Second World War. The set includes wine glasses, cocktail glasses, plates and punch bowls all with the same design. They were once used for formal dinners, but have since been retired from service due to the age and fragility.
