Portrait of a Girl (Retrato de una Muchacha)

Portrait of Rosa Urchaga Villares, the daughter of a painter and decorator from Borja with whom González created a local art academy. The work is incredibly delicate with its use of pastel. Baltasar González is one of the most representative Aragonese artists of the period. He worked across genres, but achieved the best quality with his portraits. These stand out, like this one, for their perfect classical style which became more Impressionist over time.
