  • Artist Biography: Herbert Feist was born in Mannheim, Germany. He married Edith Gruenthal in 1934 and immigrated to the United States in 1936. He became a patent attorney and, in the 1960s, opened an art gallery on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. He expressed his life long love of music in his many sketches of musicians and was also an amateur musician. He died in New York in 1981.
