Ada Pedanti (1891-1933) does not directly benefit the Ospedale Maggiore. Cultured and passionate about music, she died at 42, unmarried. The mother, Giulia Peschini (1866-1935), daughter of a shopkeeper and glove maker with shop in the Corsia dei Servi, loses both children and remains a widow. In his will of May 1933, she destined all her substances to charity, with a legacy of 50,000 lire to the Ospedale Maggiore in memory of her daughter, asking for her portrait to be executed instead of her own. The executor makes the name of Vittorio Bonatti for the execution of the work, but this, once delivered, is not accepted by the Artistic Commission of the Hospital, which then gives the task to Costantino Anselmi, whose execution is performed by the executor testamentary of Giulia Peschini did not declare herself satisfied, complaining of a not perfect similarity.
