Anna Berg studied to become a singer, but started, during a stay in Paris 1925-1930 with her husband the sculptor Christian Berg, to paint without formal training. Her art is characterized by a soft, luminous color and the powerful, unified design of simple motifs, mostly still lifes, flowers and intimate landscapes. The basic character of her work is decorative, with a formal naïvism. In the portrait of her husbandyou can see one of his sculptures in the background.
