Portrait of Giorgio Clerici

Giorgio Clerici, a silk merchant, became a partner of Giovanni Pietro Carcano, benefactor of the Ospedale Maggiore, and thanks to this second life as a banker he became very rich, also obtaining the noble title of marquis. in his will on 10 July 1660, he left a large sum to the hospital, as well as several plots of land.
