Izydor Jabłoński (1835-1905) was a painter, professor at the Krakow School of Fine Arts. Friend and biographer of Jan Matejko. He studied with Wojciech Stattler, Władysław Łuszczkiewicz. Then he continued his studies in Munich and Rome.
The portrait shows young Jan Matejko in a bust with his head turned straight. Matejko has dark, longer, combed back hair, a beard and a mustache. The brown, serious eyes of the portrayed and the crooked, broken nose in his youth attract attention.
