Ignazio Marini (Tagliuno, November 28, 1811 - Milan, April 29, 1873) was one of the most popular basses of the nineteenth century. After his debut in Brescia with works by Mercadante and Pacini he burned the stages and made his debut at La Scala in 1833. In his long career as a singer with a beautiful and authoritative voice he played some roles of Verdi (of which he was a friend) in world premiere: Oberto in Oberto, Count of San Bonifacio (November 17, 1839, Milan); Attila in Attila (17 March 1846, Venice); An alcade in La forza del destino (November 10, 1862, St. Petersburg). In the archives the Museum has numerous letters and passports. It is here portrayed (both on the wall and in one of the two wall-mounted windows) by the famous painter Giuseppe Carnovali called "Il Piccio".
