Llantrisant, South Wales

William Wyon was a distinguished Chief Engraver of the Royal Mint and Royal Academician. This portrait of the great man was prepared by Freidrich Wilhelm Kullrich towards the end of Wyon's life. It reveals a man with a more authoritative bearing than that conveyed through the more idealised view his son Leonard prepared for the much better known Art Union medal.
