Yinuan Longgi (1592-1673) was a high priest born in the Fujian province of China. He was often invited to be the chief priest of Sofukuji temple by Chinese people in Nagasaki, and finally visited Nagasaki in 1654 with his many pupils. Afterwards, he established Manpukuji temple in Kyoto under strong recommendation by the Tokugawa shogunate in 1661.
