Four German charity stamps that match the motifs of an analogous postage stamp set issued by the Bundespost for the Saarland, though the Saarlandic stamps were valued in francs. Beneath the appreciatory slogan "Bergmann – Helfer der Menschheit" (literally: "Miners – helpers of humanity"), every one of the four stamps portrays a typical mining motif, a miner with a miner's lamp, with a mechanical pick, with a coal plough and a miner standing near a winding shaft.
