The film that started K.A. Abbas’s career in films, Naya Sansar (1941) was directed by N. R. Acharya and dealt with the conflict of ideas in journalism. The film won Abbas the Bengal Film Journalists' Association Award for the best story and screenplay. Later, when he started his own production house, he called it Naya Sansar.
