London, United Kingdom

This pro-female suffrage propaganda poster was produced at the Suffrage Atelier in Shepherd's Bush, west London, probably by the artist E T Dana.
The Atelier specialised in hand-made wooden block prints, stencilling and etchings. Its visually powerful posters and postcards were used to publicise the pro-suffrage campaign.
The limerick on this poster was adapted from Edward Lear. It refers to parliamentary procrastination in relation to the introduction of a female suffrage bill.
