This spacesuit is believed to be the only one of its kind. B.F. Goodrich Company and Hamilton Standard collaborated on the suit in the early 1960s. This prototype is classified as a “mobility suit”, and was one of the proposals for the Apollo suit design program. Historic documentation indicates that the suit originally had an aluminized thermal insulating cover garment and possibly two gloves and a helmet. None of those items came to the museum with the suit. It does have its blue, nylon comfort liner, attached boots, and a single glove.NASA Johnson Space Center transferred this spacesuit to the museum after the end of the Apollo program.
