This jacket is one of the clothing artifacts from the Joseon royal household left behind after Princess Deokhye, daughter of Emperor Gojong, stayed in Japan. The Bunka Gakuen Costume Museum in Tokyo, Japan re-donated this jacket to the National Palace Museum of Korea in 2015 after it had been given to the Costume Museum by Imperial Prince Yeong and his consort.
This jacket is decorated with different-colored patches on a band of fabric that trims the collar, a cuff placed at the end of the sleeves, and a coat string. This artifact is a jacket with red silk decorative patches on the aforementioned three parts made of light-yellow patterned gauze silk as the outer fabric, lined with thin white cotton. Between the outer fabric and lining, it is padded with thin cotton batting.
