Felix Octavius Carr Darley was one of the most prolific of early American illustrators. He is best known for the lithographic reproductions of his drawings illustrating works by James Fenimore Cooper, Edgar Allen Poe, and others. A print entitled "All Hallow 'een" shows that bobbing for apples is an early American tradition.
