Excerpt from the minutes of the Hamburg Education Authority

In 1909, the Education Authority appointed Gustav Aufschläger, Kurt Siemers, Albrecht O'Swald and Friedrich Brach to the Museum Committee and decided Aby Warburg's re-election. Since 1892, Werner von Melle had been the chairman of the commitee which existed until the early 1920s. Many of its members also influenced the development of the museum as important donors of money and artefacts. They are mentioned on the benefactors' list in the museum’s entrance hall.
