This cloth, called pua kombu, is made by the Dayak Kantuk tribe. The main motif here is an abstraction of ancestral figures, and serves as a symbol of their ongoing presence. The pua kombu is used as a man's blanket, as a ceremonial cloth that is hung in the traditional house, or by the shaman for healing purposes. Possession of such a cloth used to signify the social status of its owner.
