The Gund Manufacturing Company's hand puppets were first introduced in the early 1950s. These offerings of hand puppets provide a modern take on a classic toy form. Puppets have been part of many cultures. Japan has a rich tradition of puppet theater and many areas of the Middle East and Europe have used puppets to tell traditional folk tales and stories. Puppet history in Italy, France, England, and other countries goes back for at least 300 hundred years. Puppets like those of Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Pluto, and Goofy are still popular today.
