Qing-dynasty Women’s Blue Satin Padded Jacket with Patterns of Clouds, Bats and Hundred Butterflies Front View

This padded jacket has a crew neck, a diagonal placket from neck to right waist, short broad sleeves and two side slits embellished with ruyi-shaped cloud patterns. It adopted blue satin with inconspicuous patterns of clouds and bats for outer fabric, and plain moonlight white silk twill for lining. Its main body is carpeted with motifs of traditional “hundred butterflies”. With a neckline embellished with motifs of flowers in four seasons, its placket is hemmed with plain mineral blue tapes, and sleeves decorated with narrow piping, coupled with patterns of colored birds and flowers on a beige ground as well as pavilions, terraces and figures on an ecru foundation.
