Inventor Blake English claims he has a fascination with aviation and engineering challenges. He recently combined the two with he invented Air Swimmers, remote controlled flying fish--a shark and a clownfish--which surprised the toy-buying public in 2011. Similar to remote controlled blimps, the fish lack propellers. Instead, they swish their tails with a realistic swimming motion and this propels them. Relatively inexpensive and refillable with party-store helium, Air Swimmers never fail to draw a crowd. The toys won English a Rising Star Inventor award at the Toy and Game Industry Expo for 2011.
