The shirsh margum abyad is the dress of Ramtha and the Northern Ghor. It makes a dramatic impression on the viewer, because of the striking contrast between the white embroidery and its background of black doubeit cotton fabric. The cut of the dress is narrower than the shirsh shaghat (see Irbid). Two folds near the hem of the dress were sewn in order to shorten it. As many as twelve to fifteen patterns of embroidery can appear on a single dress, and often relate to the daily life of the woman who wears it. These patterns are often matched in parallel bands around the hem, separated by binding stitch embroidery. In the decoration on the neckline, one can find manajel and raqma stitches. On the sleeves, among the designs present are arba' beidat felmakla, ('four eggs in a pan'), arrowheads, and others.
