Flight Lieutenant “Parky” Parkinson, dressed in authentic 1940s flying gear. Pilots wore very little protection: uniform with goggles, helmet and gauntlets. Parky is wearing his parachute and “Mae West” life preserver to keep him afloat if he crashes in the sea.
