Although it started as a bluesy British combo in the late 1960s, Fleetwood Mac reached its pinnacle of commercial and artistic success in California in the 1970s after adding pianist/songwriter Christine McVie and the soft rock duo of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks to the original members (and origins of the group's name), drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie. This 1975 album was the first with Buckingham and Nicks on board. Its sales built slowly with the hit singles "Rhiannon," "Say You Love Me," and "Over My Head." It eventually reached No. 1 in 1976 and sold more than 5 million copies in the United States.
