Tom T. Hall's most famous song, "Harper Valley P.T.A." was a hit for Jeannie C. Riley in 1968, but he also had his own share of hits during his solo career, including seven number one singles. During the early 1970s, Hall racked up five of those singles, including "I Love," "Country Is," "I Care," and "Faster Horses (The Cowboy and the Poet)." He also became a regular on "Hee Haw." His 1976 album "The Magnificent Music Machine" featured his trademark slice-of-life story songs.
