This characteristic General Electric refrigerator is based on its predecessor but has a more recognizable 'globe' on top. This sphere contains the entire mechanism, which uses sulphur dioxide. Because the sphere is hermetically sealed and permanently lubricated, this refrigerator was seen as one of the most reliable. The cabinet stands on four cast iron feet.
