Just after the turn of the twentieth century, this gentleman traveled to a rocky coastline and enjoyed it enough to have his photo taken while there. It was probably a vacation or another kind of trip for pleasure, and thus it relates to adult play. The photo came down in the donor's family to the present day, and he made a copy for the museum. The original photo's date of 1908 is confirmed by the gentleman's clothing style. At that time, even a man on vacation would likely wear a coat and hat.
