Needle-pulling scissors, as indicated by the name, were used to pull the needle out when it was stuck in a hard and firm texture. This pair of copper needle-pulling scissors of the Republican China era (1912-1945 AD) have square tips on two blades in a rectangular-like shape, which is more similar to pliers rather than common scissors. When closed they are in a shape similar to the Chinese character “互”. With two large finger bows which are more comfortable for the users to handle, this pair of scissors are decorated with four parallel short lines at the finger rest.
