In the foreground, in the center, Tiradentes is barefoot, standing, facing left, right arm suspended, hand flat, left arm close to his bare chest, holding white cloth; long, dark hair, mustache and beard. Wears white pants. Beside him, a table covered with a fringed blue towel, close to it a man with powdered hair and pigtails, gray beard, wearing a black coat, gray socks and black shoes; right arm extended. His left had holds a white paper. On the left side there are several priests standing and one kneeling, hand resting on the back of the chair. On the right side there are several men standing and, in the lower corner, an old man with long white hair, mustache and beard, holding a kind of cane. Dark background consisting of arches, with a small pendant lantern standing out in the upper left corner.
Study for a painting of the same name commissioned from the author by the Municipality of Ouro Preto at the end of the 19th century
