Restoration of trade union rights

The French occupation authorities prescribed the restoration of trade union rights in the French zone of occupation through their Decree No. 6. The military governor of the French occupation zone in Germany, General Pierre Koenig, outlined the basic principles of the Saarlandic trade union organisation with this decree of permit. The union movement was to have a unified and independent character that was not bound to one specific ideology or world view.
