A new chapter in the history of core-formed bottles began in the 6th century BCE on Rhodes, where a series of vessels imitating Greek pottery and metal ware began to be produced (fig. 3). These bottles, decorated with colorful glass threads, served as elegant containers for Rhodes' famous perfumes and oils.
