The highly complex skeletons of the large airships of the 1920s and 1930s were built at the airship yard in Friedrichshafen with these specially developed riveting pliers. For special applications, they were still in use in tank construction until the 1980s. The partial reconstruction of LZ 129 Hindenburg for the reopening of the Zeppelin Museum in the Hafenbahnhof in 1996 was also riveted by hand with these historical tools.
