Robe à la française

The Robe à la française is a female overdress with wide back pleats. Alternatively known as the 'andrienne', it was most diffused in the period between 1730 and 1760. The fabric of this garment, which has undergone numerous repairs and modifications, originates from a Lyon textile manufacture.
