Robert D. Gallagher requested a “big picture” of his wife, Eileen, while writing home from Camp Robinson, Arkansas during World War II. He paid six cents to post the letter to Leavenworth, Kansas.
Like other U.S. states and regions across the globe, Kansans have served and died in war. The Kansas Museum of History aims to remember them through what they left behind. To see the full letter please visit: https://www.kansasmemory.org/item/316699
