Lamp with plain nozzle and handle; within a moulding, Hercules in the garden of the Hesperides. He stands to the front with left leg advanced and right leg bent, and with right hand he holds a club above his head, in the act of striking at a serpent, twisted round his left foot and held in his left hand. He wears a lion-skin knotted round his neck. On right is a tree with golden apples. Coarse modelling, from worn mould. Red glaze. Central orifice off centre. Has four circles connected by three lines incised on base. Scratched before baking. Glaze particularly worn around handle. Groove at base of nozzle.
