“This original design is based on the rosemaling painting technique. Obtaining the clear, bright colors I wanted to use was a challenge at a time when soft, muted colors were in vogue. The red fabric, for example, took me a couple of weeks to locate and involved visits to countless quilt shops and fabric stores and probably 400 miles of driving.”
