Star of the Royal Order of St. Michael & St. George, Knight's Grand Cross (Great Britain). Silver faceted seven-rayed star between which are smaller gold faceted rays, with red enameled (champleve) cross at center and central medallion of porcelain(?) with St. Michael trampling Satan painted in multi-colors encircled by a navy blue enamel band with "Auspicium Milioris ævi" and a decorative gold border. The order's motto "Auspicium melioris ævi" is Latin for "Token of a better age."
