Rua de Cima do Muro (Street Upon the Wall)

Once the medieval fernandina wall was no longer needed to fulfill a defensive function, the city ended up taking advantage of it as a site to build houses. Rua de Cima do Muro (Street Upon the Wall) still preserves, in its name, the memory of the perimeter wall along the river.
